CHANGE IN PARK MANAGEMENT - HAVE YOUR SAY Lambeth Council has announced cuts of 50 per cent to park budgets from April 2016. Cuts of this size could mean a return to the days when repairs aren’t made, flower beds aren’t maintained and just the grass is cut. It could mean the water play wouldn’t run and the toilets would shut. The existing park manager post will end on 30th June 2015. Myatt’s Fields Park Project has been working hard with Lambeth to find a way to support the park during the time of the cuts. We want to make sure there’s a park manager to maintain the park’s current high standards, and to help bring in new income to support the park from 2016. In order to make all this happen, Myatt’s Fields Park Project has submitted a bid to Lambeth to become a Pioneer Park from September 2015. This will mean local people have responsibility for managing many aspects of the park maintenance. We will have more responsibility for finding new income, particularly in 2016 when we will have to generate revenue to make up for cuts. We want to discuss all of this with local people and come to a decision jointly. We are inviting you to two meetings where everything will be explained and discussed, and a final meeting where Pioneer management will be put to a vote:
