The Minet Hub would like to express its gratitude and thanks to all who supported the Campaign to Save the Minet Library & Archives.
To everyone who signed the petition, attended the vigil, completed the questionnaire, responded directly to the Consultation, put up notices, wrote to local politicians, galvanised others, visited the Library, came along to the events, volunteered their time and said 'No' to the proposal we are very grateful for your support.
We have submitted our 100+ page Business Case to Lambeth Council outlining why the Library & Archives should remain in their current location. Included in the document are cost effective suggestions for alternative business models for the development and sustainability of the Library & Archives. The document also contains a petition with over 1,000 signatures, ‘Save the Library’ cards created by over 130 school children and ‘Library in Danger' cards signed by nearly 90 people. You can read the Business Case here.
Lambeth Council are now assessing all feedback to the Culture Services 2020 Consultation including our Business Case. We shall keep you updated on their responses and feedback.
We hope you will continue to support the Minet Library & Archives; also do stay in touch and look out for local events and activities by the Minet Hub and its member organisations, Longfield Hall, The Remakery, Myatt’s Field Park Project, Minet Conservation Association and Friends of the Minet Library.
